Whether you're submitting a claim for reimbursement now or saving it for later, you'll first need to add the expense to the platform. Here's how to do it.
Bank account required
If you haven't linked a bank account to your Health Wallet, you'll need to before getting reimbursed. (See "Link your bank account.")
Step 1: Add your documentation
Select Add Expense from the home menu, then choose:
If you have your receipt, invoice, or EOB ready: upload it now. The platform scans your document and prefills matching fields, look for the magic pencil icon, that means it was autopopulated.
If you don't have it yet: select "No receipt? Enter details instead" to enter your claim details manually now, and add your documentation once you have it.
Documentation is required to submit
Claims for reviewed benefit programs need documentation before they can be submitted for review (See "Understanding claim requirements."). If you don't have it yet, you can only save it for later.
Step 2: Review the fields
Review any autopopulated fields and fill in anything left blank:
Common fields explained
Benefit: which benefit you're submitting for (e.g., FSA)
Amount: the amount you're submitting
Merchant: where you made the purchase
Date of Service: the day you received the service or purchased the item
Description: details about the service or item
Fields vary by benefit type
Some benefits require more or fewer fields beyond the common ones listed above. Check the submission form for your specific benefit to see what's needed.
Step 3: Submit now, or save for later
If you've attached documentation, choose whether to submit your claim for reimbursement now, or save it. Saved claims are stored under Saved Expenses until you're ready to submit or delete them.
Picking up where you left off
Saved a claim earlier? Go to Saved Expenses to find it and continue where you stopped.
What happens next
Your benefits administrator will review your claim and let you know their decision within 30 days of submission. (Though you'll likely hear back much sooner!)
If your claim is denied
If your claim is denied, you have the right to appeal. (See "Appeal a denied claim.")
